OXIDATION & REDUCTION REACTION🍱

Oxidation: The addition of oxygen or electronegative element to a substance or the removal of hydrogen or electropositive element from a substance is called oxidation.

Reduction: The addition of hydrogen or an electropositive element to a substance or the removal of oxygen or an electronegative element from a substance is called reduction.

Oxidising Agent (oxidant)- Any substance which adds oxygen or removes hydrogen from another substance is known as an oxidizing agent. Oxidizing agent gets reduced in a chemical reaction.

Reducing Agent (Reductant)- Any substance which removes oxygen or adds hydrogen from other substances is known as a reducing agent. Reducing agents get oxidized in a reaction.
