ELECTRIC MOTOR⚡️
An electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. An electric motor consists of a rectangular insulated copper wire wound on a soft iron core called an armature(or rotor) which can freely rotate about its axis. The coil is mounted between the poles of a permanent magnet. Two ends of the coil are connected to the commutator which reverses the direction of current flowing through the coil, every time the coil passes the vertical position during the revolution. when current passes through the coil, two equal and opposite forces act on the two sides of the coil and rotate the coil. The battery supplies current to the coil via a carbon brush which always remains in contact with the commutator.
